MAJLIS - MOST REPRESENTATIVE VILLA of the COMPLEX

Our office apart from all the urban elements designed 10 nos. of Villas. The contract & time have allowed us to control from the construction till the decoration, only the Majlis house.
evertheless, in the totality of the designs achieving the modern architectural principles has been sought for, englobing the fundamental elements composing it with the extraordinary beauty of present as well as past Arab Architecture, trying to make a modern interpretation of these specific elements of ancient Arab Architecture.
The fact that in Spain an unquantifiable number of fantastic Andalusian examples of the mentioned designs exist, we have tried to adapt them to our present times especially in relation to the costs which those would manifest nowadays.

Maryam Jameelah in the book " Islam and Western Society " exposes something to be paid attention:

""We know that a glass wall lets in as much as ten times more heat than a solid brick or adobe wall four inches thick and that a glass wall 3 by 3 meters exposed to the direct rays of the tropical desert sun lets into the interior 2.000 calories of heat per hour, requiring two tons of refrigeration per hour.""

""So the architect who builds such a solar furnace in Kuwait or Riyadh, for example, and then brings in a vast refrigeration plant and expensive air-conditioning units to make it habitable is unnecessarily complicating his problems by insisting on a style of architecture entirely unsuited to the indigenous climatic and geographic conditions, not to mention violating the cultural and spiritual traditions of the people""

Following those principles adapting them to our present times especially in order to achieve the cool atmosphere needed in such hot weather as well as the low cost that this architecture usually has in relation to the technical architecture in fashion nowadays.

One fundamental concept for the Majlis house can be outlined by the U-shaped entrance arcade that symbolizes the welcoming arms for closest friends. This, however, does not come as a symbolic element alone but as a screen that covers the views to the service entrances, enhancing the Main entrance.

So in all the designs, the patios and fountains are constructed in a way that all the houses overlook them so as to produce shade over them and therefore reduce the internal temperature of the patios and the villa.
